Four different car manufacturing companies Horch, Audi, Wanderer and DKW have merged together in the year 1932 to provide Germany with one of the best car manufacturers, which today everybody knows it by the name Audi AG. Most of the people today think of their status in the society with the car they own. Every person goes for the outer look initially as it holds high command in defining the status or position of the car and its owner. Audi AG provides just that to the people.
The year 1991 saw the release of the first Audi S4, after Audi AG started making these models for almost a year starting from 1990. This S4 Quattro is used by the executives and it has also got its own sporty look. This compact car has got a powerful engine. Audi started manufacturing the C4 S4 model right from the year 1992 and its production came to an end in 1994. It was released in two different body styles - four-door sedan and a five-door wagon that could be used by the executive class. Weighing about 1700kg to 1800kg, it was much similar in looks to the Audi100. It was well received with high profit sales in those days.
The Audi S4 Quattro B5 was debuted in the year 1997. The American market saw its first release in 2000. Fastest among all the Audi cars, this car can achieve a top speed of 150mph. The performance of this compact sports car is in no match to any other car. The initial year itself experienced huge benefits by the sale of this car. Michael Galati, the well-known car racer won the Speed Vision World Challenge championship in this car in 2001.Audi celebrated its first ever win in a championship with this one.
Audi S4 B6, the next generation of the S4 cars was released in mid 2003. The fuel capacity was upgraded to 66 liters from 62 in its previous version. Better enhanced engine was designed for this model. Third different body style was introduced with this version apart from the four-door sedan and five-door wagon in its previous releases. This third style is known as cabriolet. It had two-doors and therefore it is also used as a convertible. B7 took over the B6 platform in the year 2006. The current available version in the market is the B7 platform. B7 platform also introduced the DVD-ROM feature which was not available until then. B6 version contained only the CD-ROM model.
There is a list of new range of Audi S4 cars that are waiting to be released. These new versions will start with the B8 platform. Innovative technologies and better design features are a part of these new versions; most of which are still in the production stage. Enhanced V6 engine comes along with these releases. Previous releases had the V8 model engine.
So, it may be an advantage to book the latest model of the Audi S4, rather than purchase one second hand, before this amazing model is superseded.
